  1. This is common sense, we still have far harsher trade restrictions on China then we did 2 years ago. Awful as the little noticed CUSMA provision forbidding us from getting a free trade agreement with China is, it’s not a straight jacket that just requires us to mirror all American tariffs on China as they are rolled out (though our foreign policy has become so obsequious you’d think it was a requirement).

    The focus on CUSMA being Trump’s concern (which it is not, it is simply a deal with China) makes me think that they’re expecting a targeted auto sector tariff on account of effectively dropping tbe EV tariff. Doug Ford better be able to pour out gasoline from a Chevy Silverado on stage because this is going to become a shitshow

    Haha it’s like we’re gonna need to split the news into sensational and hand-crafted for the American audience and fact-based and pragmatic for ourselves. Poor Carney, what a fine line he has to walk, but he’s doing it as well as his name demands.
