  1. **From CNN:**

Venezuela’s acting president Delcy Rodríguez said Sunday she has had “enough” of Washington’s orders, as she works to unite the country after the US capture of its former leader Nicolás Maduro.

Rodríguez has been walking a tight-rope since being backed by the US to lead the country in the interim; balancing keeping Maduro loyalists on board at home while trying to ensure the White House is happy.

Now, almost a month into her new role, Rodríguez has pushed back on the US, amid ongoing pressure including a [series of demands](https://www.cnn.com/2026/01/07/politics/venezuela-trump-oil-demands?cid=external-feeds_iluminar_yahoo) for Venezuela to resume oil production.

  2. The entire thing looks weird at this point. Maduro is out but nothing else changed. Either this tactically briliant move was strategic fuckup or there is a deeper half-baked conspiracy going on.

I`d love to be a fly on the wall inside boardrooms of oilcompanys right about now, take the bone and potentially have hurdles in every other market on the planet or let it slide..

Well what else would a puppet say to oil-workers.
US pulls her strings with one hand and has the scissors ready in the other.

I would take into account that Marco Rubio said that they wouldn’t care about what Delcy says, and more about what Delcy does. So far it seems Delcy has been complying with everything the US has asked, except for releasing all political prisoners, which they have been doing pretty slowly (around 200 of 900~ so far). We also have to take into account that she has to try to convince her base of supporters that she isn’t a puppet, even if she is, because that could cause them to try to remove her, especially the hardline supporters. It’s a complicated situation for the ones in power

  6. Hasn’t she ever seen a mafia movie before? The Don did a thing, now she’s in his pocket.

Wow who could have seen THAT coming? I am just, shocked. All the MAGAts assured me that Venezuelans were cheering for Trump and were appreciative and willing to cooperate. Wow. Stunned.

  8. What with how impetuous this administration is, cant say i blame them. They have no idea how to run their own country let alone one who’s culture is different.

  9. It’s good Venezuela has a strong woman to lead the country. Hopefully they will prevail against these threats by the US.

Then she should not have conspired with Trump To oust Maduro. Oh yeah that news came out last week that her brother and she met with Trump and told him that if he ousted Maduro. She would do whatever he wants.
