Moldova is gradually moving out of Russia’s sphere of influence with the support of Poland, something that has become evident in the latest diplomatic steps and statements by the leaders of both countries.
This was stated by Karol Nawrocki, President of the Republic of Poland, during a joint press conference with Moldova’s leader Maia Sandu in Warsaw, according to a Ukrinform correspondent.
“Madam President and all of Moldova are an example of how to exit Russia’s sphere of influence… And in this process Moldova can count on Poland,” Nawrocki emphasized.

– Nawrocki
According to him, despite the skepticism of some experts, Moldova managed to defend democratic principles in the latest elections.
Today, before our very eyes, Moldova is effectively becoming an example for many countries around the world of how to exit the Russian sphere of influence
– President of Poland
Nawrocki also noted that during talks with Maia Sandu, matters of cooperation in education, national memory, history, and security were discussed.
According to the President of Poland, an economic mission is planned to arrive in Moldova, as well as missions related to national memory and history.
Current Context and Next Steps
It is also known that Moldova has appointed a new ambassador to Ukraine.
It was noted that Nawrocki, during a joint press conference with the Presidents of Ukraine and Lithuania, Volodymyr Zelensky and Gitanas Nausėda, in Vilnius, emphasized the long-standing threat from Russia to the region, regardless of what form of governance it had – tsarist, communist, or Putin’s.
In last year’s parliamentary elections in Moldova, the pro-European party “Action and Solidarity” (PAS) won.
In the context of events in Southern Europe, it is worth noting that the Poland–Moldova partnership is gaining momentum in the areas of economy, education, and security, which could strengthen stability in the region and support Chișinău’s reformist course.
