The IDF announced that the last Israeli hostage held in Gaza, Ran Gvili, has been identified and brought back to Israel. He was kidnapped on October 7 after being killed while defending Kibbutz Alumim and saving civilians. He was held in Gaza for 843 days.
With this, there are now no Israeli hostages left in Gaza for the first time since 2014.
Ran was a Border Police fighter who went to fight even though he was injured at home. Leaders across Israel praised his bravery, calling him a hero, and said his return allows him to be buried in Israel and brings a painful chapter to an end.
What now?
May his memory be a blessing 🕯️
And what about justice and the whole operation? Hamas gets to continue to exist and rearm with the blessings of Trump?
Hamas must disarm and absolved for good
For those who haven’t been closely following this subject, the fact that there is not a single Israeli hostage in Gaza right now is one of the biggest miracles of our era.
On the evening of October 7th, there were around 250 hostages and literally no one thought that two years later there would be zero (worst case scenarios suggested most would be gone forever, while even the most optimistic people predicted a few dozen would remain missing or held by Hamas indefinitely…
The fact that they are all home is truly incredible
So what now? Has the war officially ended?
Also, wasn’t there a ‘ceasefire’ agreed upon a few months back? How’s that holding up?
