Montana State University will host Science Night on Feb. 5, inviting community members of all ages to explore topics ranging from black holes to nanotechnology. Science Night will take place from 6 to 7:30 p.m. in the Strand Union Building ballrooms. The event is designed to engage all ages, but children must be accompanied by an adult.
Science Night will feature about 25 interactive demonstrations in an open setting, allowing attendees to participate in activities focused on science, technology, engineering and math. Each demonstration will be hosted by researchers and students from 16 different MSU departments.
“Youth can meet STEM role models who will spark their curiosity, and the public can learn about the incredible programs here,” Jamie Cornish, a science education outreach specialist with MSU Academic Technology and Outreach, stated in an MSU news release. “Teachers have repeatedly told us that this event is the kids’ favorite field trip of the year because they can try a bunch of different experiments at their own pace and see the science come to life in practical applications that can influence their daily lives.”
The event is free and registration is not required.
