January 23, the Embassy of Ukraine in the Slovak Republic announced a fundraising drive to meet Ukrainians’ urgent needs for alternative power supply. In three days, more than 530,000 euros were raised in the country. Information was provided on the initiative page “Heat for Ukraine: Urgent Help” in Slovakia.
At the end of the third day, January 26, the Ukrainian ambassador to the Slovak Republic, Myroslav Kastran, thanked everyone for their activity. Diplomats said that the first truck with generators worth 130 thousand euros would be sent to Chernihiv on January 29, and another – worth 100 thousand euros – to Sumy and the Sumy region.

The diplomats organized the collection on January 23 in partnership with a number of non-governmental organizations: Integra Foundation, Post Bellum SK, Peace for Ukraine, People in Need, Pontis Foundation, All4Ukraine, Ambrela, Adra, Heart for Ukraine, and Open Society Foundation.

So far, donations have been made by 10,895 people.
On January 18 it was reported that over three days of the “Heat from Poland for Kyiv” fundraising campaign, 1.26 million zlotys (about 15 million UAH) were raised for generators, sleeping bags, and fuel. The fundraising continues; the goal was raised to 10 million zlotys. And the first batch of generators, funded by the Polish donors, is already in Kyiv.
Also in the Czech Republic, nearly 4 million euros were raised to purchase generators and batteries for Kyiv.
On January 19, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sibiga instructed all Ukrainian foreign diplomatic missions to initiate urgent fundraising campaigns to support the energy sector, following the example of the recent Polish initiative.
