A search operation is underway in Ċirkewwa after a 13-year-old girl was swept out to sea amid strong winds earlier today, according to TVM News

The operation is being led by the Armed Forces of Malta in coordination with the Civil Protection Department. Search efforts are ongoing both from the air and at sea, with a helicopter deployed alongside marine units.

The girl was accompanied by her 14-year-old brother at the time of the incident. He was successfully rescued by emergency services and is reported to be safe.
