In a statement, E-Redes reported that the electricity grid had been affected by adverse weather conditions, indicating that at 1 am today, around 40,000 customers were without power, with the district of Viana do Castelo being the most affected.
E-Redes’ operational teams have been mobilised to resolve faults in the medium- and low-voltage networks.
“At this time, 9 am, 8,000 customers are without power, and the operational team remains on the ground to repair all outstanding issues,” the statement added.
Mainland Portugal is being affected by the passage of the Joseph depression, with rain, wind, snow, and rough seas, and several warnings have been issued by the Portuguese Institute of the Sea and the Atmosphere (IPMA).
