Croatia, according to the first indications from the mixed zone, will not be able to count on Zvonimir Srna for Wednesday’s semi-final race clash with Hungary.
The left back from France’s Montpellier picked up an injury in the first half of the derby against their neighbours, and he was not in the arena in the second half. Head coach Dagur Sigurdsson also made it clear the problem is serious:
“Now we’ve lost Srna as well, and we have to find a replacement for him,” the Icelander said after the 29–25 win over Slovenia.
Tin Lučin seized his opportunity in full, emerging as Croatia’s main attacking weapon in the second half in Malmö, but the question remains whether Sigurdsson will also look to bring in an additional call-up for the left back position.
