Interim Coupang CEO Harold Rogers is expected to appear before police for questioning on Friday after defying two previous summonses.

KBS has learned that Rogers’ side plans to comply with a third summons as part of a probe into Coupang’s internal investigation of its recent massive data breach.

Rogers left South Korea on January 1, citing a scheduled overseas business trip, a day after attending a National Assembly joint hearing on Coupang’s data breach.

Police subsequently summoned him twice, but Rogers did not comply with either request.

Police then sought to place a travel ban on Rogers, but prosecutors declined the request, citing his voluntary return to South Korea and other considerations.

Sources say Rogers reentered South Korea last Wednesday.
