Hello there,
An old friend from Sweden visited me and gifted me this amazing dala horse. I dont know too much about it but apparently was given to him from the Swedish Police.
I would love to know more about it as its been on my display cabinet for years and I love it.

Dalahorses are supposed to be red. This abomination should die neighing in a fire.

Enda djuret med fittan på ryggen!
It’s made in Nusnäs, a village in my town of Mora which is where all authentic Dala horses are made. The two ”big” manufacturers are Nils Olsson and Grannas A Olssons.
They make a lot of special order horses and it has the crest of the Swedish Police Authority on it so it was probably made as a sort of commemorative gift to police employees at some point.
What else do you want to know about it? It’s not an antique but all Dala horses are hand made and painted and pretty expensive for what they are.
