  1. Wow that is unsustainable.

    Stolen from Wikipedia

    US military deaths:

    Total 1775–2019 1,308,464+

The Russians have lost in 2.5 years nearly the same amount as the Americans have lost in 244 years.

  2. That probably also includes injured, captured and possibly also desertion?

Still, 1.2m on the Russian side and 600k on Ukraine’s is an incredibly sad statistic for the modern world, 1.8m men with lives and families gone because of a few people’s power hungry madness.

I wonder how it was calculated?

The numbers are so unrealistic that I think the calculation was conducted like this. Russians had taken over this territory, then everyone who lived on it was now Russian, which meant that everyone who died was Russian. Russian Russians are killing Russians – hooray.

  4. Russian society is ok with it, as they do not care about human tall and want victory, most people are happy with Ukrainians freezing to death

It could be a lot worse when the Americans set up their bases on Greenland and join the Russians against NATO. It is called a ‘pincer movement’. The death toll will be a hundred times what it is now as Europe is surrounded and forced out into the ocean.

  6. Russia is consistently proving its war in Ukraine to be the greatest military embarrassment in recent memory since America’s Vietnam failure but somehow we’re supposed to believe that Putin will bomb Germany any moment now.

Putin do not care he hav lot of man . But in the end he will not have enogh workers to hold the sosiety up and will colaps in the end . He is near that now and the finenciel to .
But he want to show the world and the russian peopel at everything it,s ok . But that is a lai and falce propaganda from him and his regime . He will fall soon by the russia peopel ut,s self . That what who scare the shit out of him .

This war needs to stop. The two largest countries in Europe by area are at war, and the amount of deaths, injuries, destruction, etc., is extremely alarming.

  9. What constitutes a soldier? Bet the .2 is actually trained soldiers with > 1 year in service.

The remaining 1m must be the cannon fodder, barely trained “soldiers” they sent to test waters and assess Ukraine’s capabilities

  10. Are they all Russian? How many Africans, Koreans, Chinese etc.. And how many were disposable convicts? Big numbers but every Ukranian lost is not equal to every Russian lost. The Russians can always get more Africans to fight for them. Uktaine has a hard time convincing Ukranians to fight let alone allies.

  11. except Russia brought in convicts, whoever else they could add to the ranks from elsewhere etc..

Ukraine had to use its soldiers AND regular enlisted citizens like teachers, bakers, scholars, regular folks in sum, besides getting some help from foreigners legions who joined combat.

it’s a heavy toll from UA standpoint, whereas from RU they’ve grasped the opportunity to “clean up” their population as well, feed the grinder.

  12. It is even more surprising if one compares the numbers from previous Soviet wars (with 290 M inhabitants). The Soviets couldn’t win the Winter war in Finnland (only parts of Karelia were annexed) or the Invasion in Afghanistan. Both had massive casualties on the Soviet-side, but still a lot less than in Ukraine now.
If today 1.2 million soldiers are missing in the russian workforce and also hundreds of thousands who left the country to avoid military duties, it will blow back for generations.

It’s like Putin went all-in and strategical he already lost. I am of course no expert, it’s just my opinion.

China will at one point eat up eastern Russia.

  13. You have to imagine what 1000 causalities a day would manifest as in troop movements to reinforce positions. Clearly this is wartime propaganda.

  14. So why did Dumb Donald say that Russia could take over Iceland (Greenland) when they can’t beat Ukraine?

  15. I read in an article recently that Ukraine is killing Russians at a rate of 27:1 in some parts of the line, due to drone use. I don’t recall where I read it, so I can’t link it. It is so sad

  16. It should be noted that 6/7 of those 600k for Ukraine survived. for russia its 1/2 due to poor healthcare, supplies, medics, sanitation.

It’s such a waste of life. As populations age, we will need these young people more and more. Yet they are being killed because Putin and the corrupt Russian oligarchs want all the wealth/land and hope to live forever.

  18. If this is true it is horrible for Ukraine. Due to the pool of manpower to draw from the Ukrainians need more like 1:5 in order to just hang on.

I have been rooting hard for the Ukrainians since the begining of the war, hoping that they could overpower the russians with western equipment, but this is now looking like its not the case. Without actual military intervention from EU reinforcements theese numbers cannot be sustained.

I dont know if theese numbers are accurate, but something tells me they probably are, just because they are horribly bad for both sides. 1.2 million soldiers is bad for Putin just because this is his war and his initiative, and this is costing the russians more than they would like it to. And for the Ukrainians it just spells doom, because they have very little manpower left.

The death toll from this conflict is fucking insane. What an absolute waste of human life. Terrible.

  20. What will this loss of people do to Russia. 1.2 million lives gone. That can’t go back home after the war. Will this have a ripple effect of some kind and if so what?
