There were rumors over the past 24 hours that New England Patriots quarterback Drake Maye suffered a shoulder injury in the win over the Denver Broncos in the AFC Championship game.

We didn’t hear much from the team, and when head coach Mike Vrabel was asked about Maye’s reported shoulder injury, he didn’t give anything away.

“I wouldn’t say anybody hurt anything,” Vrabel said. “This is a sport where there’s going to be things that come up. We’ll talk about whatever status each player has for the game once we’re required to.”

Well, now, a day later, the Patriots are required to.

And wouldn’t you know it, Maye has landed on the Patriots’ latest injury report…with a right shoulder injury.

Maye a close watch ahead of Super Bowl

The positive thing for Patriots fans is two-fold.

One, Maye was listed as “limited,” meaning he was out on the field, so that’s good.

The other is that the Super Bowl is still over a week away, which means he’ll likely have ample time to recover before the biggest game of his career.

So, while having Maye on the injury report isn’t ideal, it doesn’t seem to be something that will keep him out of the Super Bowl.

Still, this is a watch-this-space moment.
