Salim Fago Lawal joins the Czech Republic
Salim Fago Lawal signed with Viktoria Plzen this winter for âŹ2.4 million, making it the biggest transfer in the history of his former club, NK Istra.
The 22-year-old Nigerian striker made his mark in Croatia with 15 goals in 64 matches, and his move to the Czech Republic could push the transfer fee up to nearly âŹ3 million with bonuses included. NK Istra will also retain a percentage from any future resale.
Arriving in Europe in the summer of 2023 from Mavlon, Lawal has enjoyed a swift rise and was even called up to Nigeria’s national team for the latest Africa Cup of Nations, where he won a bronze medal.
