The President of the Republic of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, in an exclusive interview for “Përballje Podcast” on Telegrafi.com, spoke about Kosovo’s inclusion in the Peace Board established by the United States of America, what are the obligations, responsibilities and benefits it may have.

The head of state also spoke in this podcast about her meeting with President Donald Trump, strategic relations with the United States of America, as well as opportunities for a new diplomacy, including engagement with states that have not yet recognized Kosovo.

Osmani has assessed Kosovo’s inclusion in the Peace Board as one of the most important developments in the country’s foreign policy in recent years, emphasizing that this step directly strengthens Kosovo’s international subjectivity.

The President announced that she has had several discussions with Trump since his election, focused mainly on issues of regional security and stability, emphasizing the importance of the American role in maintaining the peace, security, and sovereignty of Kosovo.

“I have had several discussions with President Trump since his election. One of the main meetings took place in Paris, at the Elysee Palace. The discussions focused on the security situation and the need for the United States of America to continue to have a leadership role in maintaining peace and security in our region, as well as conversations within the framework of meetings at the United Nations where we had a substantive discussion about President Trump’s role for peace, in our country, but also beyond, because our region is important to the American administration,” said the President.

Osmani emphasized that the role of the United States in Kosovo remains essential and irreplaceable, both in terms of security and in strengthening the country’s international subjectivity.

“America’s role in maintaining peace and security in Kosovo, in protecting our borders together with our security institutions, and in pushing Kosovo forward with full sovereignty and full territorial integrity, is an irreplaceable role,” she stressed.

The President of the Republic of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, has stated that the selection of Kosovo as a co-founding state in the “Peace Board”, an important international organization led by the United States of America, has been extremely positively evaluated by numerous world leaders and has given a powerful message for the statehood and sovereignty of Kosovo.

Osmani also emphasized the symbolic and political importance of selecting Kosovo as one of the 20 founding states, alongside countries with very large populations and economies.

“You have seen many of the countries that were there, they are extremely large countries, countries with three hundred million inhabitants, countries with two hundred million inhabitants, countries with extraordinary economies, some of them, and Kosovo being selected among the twenty founding countries, this shows extraordinary appreciation on the part of the United States of America,” the president declared on the “Confrontation Podcast”.

The President of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, has declared that the agreement signed in Davos for Kosovo’s membership in the “Peace Board” will be processed for ratification in the Assembly of Kosovo, immediately after its constitution, emphasizing that no obligation will be taken without the approval of the Assembly and that no mandatory financial contribution has been requested from Kosovo.
