Hundreds of Danish war veterans staged a silent protest outside the U.S. Embassy in Copenhagen, accusing the Trump administration of dismissing Denmark’s combat sacrifices alongside American forces. The veterans, many of whom fought in Afghanistan and Iraq, planted flags honouring fallen soldiers and expressed anger over rhetoric targeting Greenland and Denmark’s role in NATO. The demonstration followed the removal of memorial flags from outside the embassy earlier in the week, further inflaming tensions. Veterans say the protest was about respect, recognition, and honouring those who never came home.
