It’s weird to me that people seem to think “the Epstein files” refers to some list of confirmed criminals or something like that. It doesn’t. It’s a dump of all of the material related to a massive case that was built up and accumulated over years and years.
I don’t trust this administration *at all* with the release or redaction or handling of the files. It would not surprise me one bit if Trump participated in some of the more heinous things Epstein was involved in. It also wouldn’t surprise me if he *didn’t*, since I think it’s ridiculous to think that everyone in Epstein’s circle was involved. I just don’t know.
But I also don’t trust the general public to have *any* idea what to do with this kind of material. I certainly have no idea how to sift through the countless reports and documents to distinguish between things that verifiably happened and things that can’t be confirmed.
It’s a mess, and far more complicated than “in the files.” Elon’s tweet did nothing but demonstrate that he’s as brain-rotted on the topic as a lot of us are.
