COLUMBUS, Ohio – The No. 11/12 Ohio State women’s basketball team (20-3, 9-2 B1G) beat RV/RV Nebraska (16-6, 5-6 B1G) by a 90-71 margin on Sunday evening inside the Schottenstein Center.
The Buckeyes hot shooting proved to be too much for Nebraska to overcome. They shot nearly 52 percent from the floor, 44 percent from three and went 17-of-18 from the free throw line. The strong start set the tone for the game, which the Buckeyes led for more than 39 of the 40 minutes.
After a push from Nebraska in the late third quarter and early fourth quarter to cut the lead to four, the Buckeyes responded with a Jaloni Cambridge-led offensive onslaught. Cambridge scored or assisted on 20 consecutive Buckeye points to secure the 20th win of the season for the Ohio State.
J. Cambridge led all scorers with 30 points, which included 13 in the fourth quarter. This was Cambridge’s third straight game where she scored over 25 points. She has also scored at least 20 points in seven of the past eight games. Chance Gray added 21 points and made five three-pointers. Gray hit a milestone of 1,500 points in her collegiate career. Kennedy Cambridge continues to be the team’s spark plug on both ends of the floor, scoring 12 points, grabbing eight rebounds and recording seven steals.

Quarter-by-Quarter Recap
- Q1: The Buckeyes started the game strong offensively, led by a pair of Chance Gray three-pointers, to establish a 13-7 lead midway through the quarter. Both offenses cooled off, but the Buckeyes’ swarming defense was enough to keep Nebraska at bay to end the quarter up 19-13.
- Q2: Nebraska started out the second quarter with a 7-0 run to take a one-point lead at 20-19. Kennedy Cambridge responded by helping the Buckeyes spark a 10-2 run in response, showing her athleticism on both ends of the floor. The Huskers and Buckeyes traded baskets for the rest of the quarter, but Gray hit a late three-pointer to put Ohio State up by a 39-31 margin at halftime.
- Q3: The Buckeyes extended their lead coming out of the locker room, showcasing their shot-making and balanced scoring. The Buckeyes led by as many as 20 points at 62-42, following an extended 12-2 run. Nebraska trimmed the lead to 64-54 after three quarters of play.
- Q4: Nebraska continued to come back in to the fourth quarter, extending its 20-4 run that started late in the third quarter to cut the lead to 66-62. Jaloni Cambridge responded with a dynamic offensive outburst that is routine for her, scoring or assisting on 20 consecutive points in the fouth quarter, which helped the Buckeyes finish with a 17-3 run that put the game out of reach.
