There are more Italians in Brazil than the U.S. and Argentina? That’s actually shocking, I had no idea there were even Italians in Brazil.

  2. I am Argentinian with a Greek first name and an Italian last name and also Slovenian descendants. Here it is very common to have an Italian last name, because the percentage of immigration was very high and we are a country with a small population compared to other ones.

If not for the strict White Australia Policy, ethnic Italians would have the largest plurality in Australia, slightly outnumbering ethnic Irish.

Spain got quite a lot of Italian immigration during the XVI-XVIi centuries, but their descendants no longer remember.

What if someone has one Italian great grandmother and one Irish great great Grandfather, what colour do they turn the map?

  6. Having Italian ancestry doesnt make you Italian lol. My grandpa is Russian, that doesnt make me a Russian. I dont even speak Russian. People claiming to be “insert country” because one of their grandparents are “insert country” are just looking to be more unique for attention if you ask me.

I gotta tell you, northern italian + luso + native brazilians make for some of the most beautiful people in the world.

That said, i ‘ate the North. Pfft.

  8. If I recall correctly, US is predominantly southern, Brazil is predominantly northern, and Argentina is mixed.

  9. The average person of Italian descent in Brazil has virtually no connection to Italy or Italian culture. They are all Brazilians, 100% integrated into society.

  10. Brazil isn’t true, 99% are Brazilian.

At most, someone’s great-great-grandfather was, and those idiots don’t even know how to speak Italian, don’t be fooled.

So 100+ million italians if they join back itaky, first european country per inhabitants

  12. Can confirm, Canada has a massive Italian population. Most of them are in Toronto ( which has close to 500,000 Italians). Also, a lot of Toronto’s Italians come from Latin America ( Brazil, Venezuela, Argentina and Uruguay).

Montreal also has a lot of Italians ( close to 300,000 people).

This is completely wrong. Uruguay has a population of 3.5 mil there’s not 1.5 Italians what a stupid thing to put.

Is it one of the larger diaspora outside of the home nation? The brazil, argentine and us numbers are nuts. (Excluding like spanish ancestry via colonization i guess.)
