People don’t understand the depravity of the Iranian theocracy.

They assume some sort of continuity or equivalency with Pahlavi’s authoritarian regime, that prior to the revolution and now are similar in terms of brutality.

    They aren’t. At all.

Don’t get me wrong: the Shah was a piece of shit, and his regime was bad. But the Islamic Revolution has been way, way, way worse for people on the ground.

Over the last 5-10 years of the Shah’s regime, he imprisoned or disappeared or tortured sonewhere in the region of 2000 people. The Ayatollah’s regime did, based on estimates, between 2000-12000 in a single year in the 1980s.

Iran accounts for 90% of the death penalties **FOR CHILDREN** in the world since, according to Khomeini, girls as old as 9 and boys as old as 15 are considered adults. One of the most common crimes people were accused of and flogged or executed for was “Crime against God”, which boils down to “bad juju”.

There’s a reason, even today, some people in Iran are protesting for the return of the Shah, despite his despotic, authoritarian rule: the Ayatollah and Mullahs are so much worse.

Provide the detail that was said by people confessing. Whatt actually did they confess?
