The Kosovo Tax Administration (KTA) has once again reminded all persons who carry out economic activity that registering the activity is a legal obligation and avoids serious financial and legal consequences.

As part of the project to formalize the economy and place identification labels on registered businesses, TAK has announced that it will intensify field inspections throughout the territory of the Republic of Kosovo.

TAK has called on all persons who are still carrying out unregistered activities to act immediately and voluntarily register with the Kosovo Business Registration Agency (KBRA), before they are identified by tax inspectors.

According to TAK, if unregistered activities are identified during inspections, in accordance with applicable legislation, punitive measures will be taken without exception, including mandatory registration of the activity and provision of a fiscal number, as well as the application of fines and legal sanctions.

The Tax Administration emphasizes that voluntary registration avoids penalties and contributes to the creation of fair competition in the market. TAK has also requested all registered taxpayers to verify and update their data in the tax system, emphasizing that failure to update information constitutes a legal violation.

TAK has emphasized that it remains committed to combating the informal economy and building a fair, transparent and equal tax system for all citizens./Telegrafi.
