Kosovo Police has announced that, based on official information from the authorities of North Macedonia, monitoring of road traffic with intelligent cameras has begun in this country.

The system uses advanced technical equipment and cameras that automatically identify violations of traffic rules, in accordance with the legislation in force. For vehicles with foreign license plates, including those of Kosovo, in case of violations found, the vehicle owner is notified upon entry and exit from the country.

In the first phase, monitoring will be implemented in the cities of Skopje, Tetovo and Kumanovo, as well as along Corridors 8 and 10. Violations that will be recorded include: speeding, running red lights, illegal stopping and parking, and driving unregistered vehicles.

The police announce that foreign citizens have the right to benefit from a 50% reduction of the fine within eight days from the date of the fine. In case of non-payment or disagreement over the violation, a misdemeanor procedure will be initiated before the competent court.

This notice is addressed to citizens as a warning to be careful and respect traffic rules while traveling and staying in North Macedonia.
