Firefighters are working to fully extinguish a blaze that erupted at a factory of an affiliate of the food and beverage company SPC Group in Gyeonggi Province.
Authorities said the fire started Tuesday at around 2:29 p.m. at the SPC Samlip plant in Siheung city, some 30 kilometers southwest of Seoul.
Three workers were treated for smoke inhalation while one worker was rescued after being isolated on the rooftop of the factory.
Fire authorities have mobilized around 70 personnel to put out the fire after activating a Level One response posture at around 3:06 p.m.
The fire is presumed to have started at the factory’s bread production line, where 12 people were working onsite.
