The United States gets set for a doubleheader of action on the rink, as they open up mixed doubles action against Norway and Switzerland on Thursday.

Curling was first seen in Olympic program since the inaugural Winter Games in France in 1924, though it was not a medal event until 1998. The sport features a mix of strategy and skill that is very popular in parts of North America and Europe.

Mixed Doubles has been around since Pyeongchang in 2018, with Canada taking home the gold. Italy’s team of Stefania Constantini and Amos Mosaner won gold four years ago.

The Americans have a pair of matches to begin their round-robin schedule on Thursday.
