I think the ratio has improved a lot recently, and Russia’s numbers don’t count all the Donbas Ukrainians they got killed on their side. Or the Koreans or other foreign mercenaries.

If Russia really lost nearly 2 million soldiers as claimed by Ukraine, that works out to a 36: 1 ratio, which does not pass the smell test. Russia would be losing 36 soldiers for 1 Ukrainian soldier. Math isn’t mathing somewhere.

This doesnt make sense Zelensky said over 46,000 last Feb and since then Russia has returned over 12000 dead bodies to Ukraine in exchange for a few hundred dead Russians.
This would mean at least 58,000 assuming not a single Ukrainian died that Russia didnt retrieve. Or in otherwords complete nonsense like most of his figures.
It is a well known fact that for Ukraine it is not advantageous to count a soldier as KIA, because it would entail paying significant damages to the family. It is much less expensive to count him as missing (no confirmed death – no money), although everyone knows what it means. For Russia it is mitigated by the fact that many if not most of those fighting are on contract. Therefore, even if Zelensky honestly tells the number from the stats he has, it is still not true.
