Haradinaj meets US State Department official: Kosovo’s NATO membership will contribute to peace in the region

The leader of the AAK, Ramush Haradinaj, announced that he met at the US Department of State with Daniel J. Lawton, Deputy Assistant Secretary of the State Department, Bureau of European and Eurasian Affairs.
“I thanked Mr. Laëton for the unwavering support that the United States has given to Kosovo, from our freedom to the building of democracy and state institutions,” Haradinaj wrote after the meeting.
He said that in this meeting he emphasized that the partnership and friendship between Kosovo and the United States of America are stable and strategic.
“Kosovo’s membership in NATO will not only strengthen our security, but will also contribute to peace, stability and collective defense throughout the Western Balkans and the Euro-Atlantic community.”
Haradinaj is staying in the US where he previously announced that he had visited the US Congress where he said he had sought the support of President Trump and the US Congress for Kosovo’s membership in NATO.
