Fun fact: It was never banned in Austria. Only at the very beginning (around 2008) was there a brief halt because the authorities launched an investigation. This angered Google so much that they didn’t return to Austria until 10 years later. But it was always permitted. There was even a company in Vienna that launched its own Street View.

Can any geoguesser players tell me, does the probability of getting a round from one of the countries depend upon its area? Because I see a lot more SEA in geoguesser than I think I should.

In Venezuela they actually aren’t banned or something like that, they are available to use in many areas of the biggest cities, but there are still have enormous areas without coverage.

Did Germany change their internet privacy legislation? I remember seeing Germany always stick out like a sore thumb having barely any streetview

Street view is one of my favorite things, I just love exploring the world from my house.

Street view is one of the greatest products ever. Imagine telling an explorer from the 1500-1800s that you could literally see a street on the other side of the world without leaving your chair. What does a small town in Canada look like? Or downtown Tokyo? or some random village in Africa? Takes les than a minute to see it. Truly amazing.
