The world judo spectacle takes place on February 7th and 8th in France, with the participation of 499 competitors from 80 countries, where Kosovo is once again aiming for the podium.

The Paris Grand Slam 2026 will be held on February 07th and 08th in Paris, France, marking one of the most prestigious judo events on the international calendar.

This traditional competition brings together 499 competitors from 80 countries and 6 continents and is followed every year by thousands of viewers in the hall and through global broadcasts.

Kosovo will be represented by six elite judokas, once again confirming its status as one of the strongest national teams in the international judo arena.

The colors of our state will be defended by Erza Muminovic (-48 kg), Distria Krasniqi (-52 kg), Fatjona Kasapi (-52 kg), Flaka Loxha (-57 kg), Laura Fazliu (-63 kg) and Akil Gjakova (-73 kg).

The main focus is expected to be on Distria Krasniqi and Laura Fazliu, proven names on the world stage, but also on the new generation looking to make the big step in a Grand Slam-level competition. The Paris Grand Slam offers important points for the world rankings and Olympic qualifications, making every match crucial.

The Kosovo team will be led by Grandmaster Driton Kuka, the architect of Kosovo’s historic judo successes, along with coach Majlinda Kelmendi. The combination of experience, discipline and a winning mentality remains Kosovo’s main weapon in this elite arena.

The Paris Grand Slam 2026 is another big test for our judokas, but also a real opportunity for medals and further affirmation of Kosovo on the world sports stage. /Telegraph/
