Two people from Puka are being prosecuted for attempting to smuggle oil from Kosovo

Today, the Border Police in Qafë Morinë arrested two people who attempted to smuggle oil from Kosovo.

According to police reports, criminal proceedings were initiated against citizens AD, 25 years old, resident of Tropoja, and IP, 30 years old, resident of Puka.

The cases were caught in Qafë Morinë, where during a search of the truck driven by the 30-year-old and the vehicle driven by the 25-year-old, they found and seized quantities of oil undeclared to customs authorities. 

“The Crime Investigation Specialists of the Kukës DVKM referred the materials to the Prosecutor’s Office where proceedings were initiated for the criminal offense of “Smuggling of goods for which excise duty is paid”, for the citizens:

The quantity of oil was seized as material evidence.

“The procedural materials were referred to the Prosecutor’s Office for further action,” the police statement said.
