Athletes from Poland have brought an unofficial mascot to the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milan-Cortina that has captured attention across the games: a stuffed pierogi plushie, the Sporting News reports.
The plush toy has become a fan favorite as team members bring it to various events throughout the competition. NBC Olympics & Paralympics highlighted the mascot on its X account, posting:
“Team Poland has a pierogi plushie that they bring around to events at the #WinterOlympics…and we just thought you should know that.”
The toy is not a Squishmallow, and the pierogi’s name has not been released. Information on where fans can purchase the plushie is not currently available, according to the publication.
Poland is competing at the games with a strong speed skating team and potential competitors in skiing, snowboarding, and figure skating. The stuffed pierogi remains a distinctive feature of the Polish delegation.
