Get out and about to see all the art Englewood has to offer on Second Saturday! This monthly event highlights artists and local businesses throughout the city. Each participating business is celebrating in a unique way, ranging from gallery receptions to special discounts to hands-on art classes.

Bad Movie Night: Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter

Feb. 17

Celebrate Presidents Day the right way at Koelbel Library with a screening of the classic “Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter.” The R-Rated film follows the 16th President of the United States as he discovers vampires are plotting to take over the country, making it his mission to eliminate them.

Beginners Embroidery Club: Valentines

Feb. 19

This kid-centered embroidery class will help teach kids and teens the basics of embroidery while celebrating Valentine’s Day. Participants will learn about preparing materials for embroidery, creating a design and practicing a running stitch. They can follow instructions to create a heart or envelope, or learn through artistic experimentation.

Music At the Grill 

Feb. 20

South Suburban Parks and Recreation will be bringing local musicians into the South Suburban Bar and Grill every other Friday throughout the year. On Feb. 20, stop by the grill to see Ellie D & Soul Mix, and enjoy food and beverage specials.

Spring Literary Festival 

Feb. 21

Aspiring writers of all ages can spend the day learning and honing their craft at Arapahoe Community College’s annual Spring Literary Festival. The day-long fest will feature speakers from a variety of literary disciplines teaching attendees more about their craft.

Monty Python’s Spamalot

Travel back to a time of knights and princesses with Town Hall Arts Center’s production of Monty Python’s Spamalot. The show is a musical retelling of the cult classic film “Monty Python and the Holy Grail,” following King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table as they embark on a quest for the famed Holy Grail.

Black Pistol Fire 

Feb. 23 

Anyone looking for a rockin’ night out can make their way to the Gothic Theatre on Feb. 23 to catch Black Pistol Fire, a rock duo from Austin, Texas, by way of Toronto, Canada, featuring Kevin McKeown on guitar and lead vocals and Eric Owen on drums. The duo draws inspiration from bands like Led Zeppelin, Chuck Berry, Nirvana, Buddy Holly and Muddy Waters.

Historic Lincoln Hills

Feb. 25

History buffs looking to learn more about Colorado can join the Honorable Gary Jackson and Dr. Kimberlee Jackson-Butler to hear about Lincoln Hills, a historic resort in Gilpin County that was owned by African Americans. The resort was a mountain retreat for African Americans, whose recreational opportunities were limited by segregation. The resort was host to notable guests like Langston Hughes, Lena Horne and Count Bassie.

Trivia at Zymos Brewing

All Ages Storytime
