If Paris were Los Angeles, the war in Ukraine would be near Memphis

  1. The whole country is affected by the war. Drones, bombardements, sabotage, refugees… So war would begin at the Texan border

  2. Actually, Paris is the middle of Death Valley and Los Angeles is Orleans, not sure which is worse.

The reality is people don’t care about what doesn’t affect them directly. In 1994-’95, Venice Italy was packed to the gills like like Disney World with tourists, while 400 miles away in Bosnia, at the very same time, World War 2 was being recreated.

  4. Vaguely unrelated, but it’s kinda neat as someone who was raised in the LA area and now lives in the Bay Area that SF is to Los Angeles what London is to Paris.

  5. Good perspective I haven’t seen before. For me, at least, it makes it even more confusing why for so long some countries in western europe were waffling on support when the war is literally on their doorstep.

  6. And just like the great ppl of Paris, if war broke out near Memphis, I would not give a fuck.

I love that you can tell this was made by an American at a glance. Paris is not the middle of France, my guy.
