Middle East is surprising, especially since they fast for one month every year.

Used to be that the Americans were the easy choice as the world’s fattest people, between abundant portions and lots of prepared and fast food and all. But now, wow, Mexico, South Africa, and like the entire Arab world? These are not super rich people…
One thing I am wondering about is how the increased availability of Wegovy and Ozempic will affect obesity levels in the First World areas that can afford them.

Surprised about Australia – Australians are stereotyped as being highly interested in sports and fairly active, especially given the favourable climate for being outdoors.

Prevalence of female obesity in Colombia was above 30% in 2022 already.
I’m quite surprised Italy is higher than France and Switzerland. Italy had the thinnest women (and most beautiful) I’ve seen out of all of the European countries I’ve traveled to (including France and Switzerland).
Not even sure I’ve ever seen an obese European in all of my travels though, come to think of it.

How is France so thin? Their food uses huge amounts of butter and cream and everyone smokes and drinks like crazy.

I spent about 2 weeks in Egypt a couple of years ago. I really don’t think the women are obese. They are (I am trying to be objective here) definitely voluptuous though. Think somewhere along the Kim Kardashian / Serena Williams spectrum.

Not surprised at all seeing Japan among the lowest. A traditional diet of rice, fish and lots of vegetables does the trick nicely.

India surprises me. I know there’s a lot of undernutrition and that plays a part, but I also thought the women were pretty thicc, not going to lie.

A lot of fat women in the middle-eastern countries where women are discouraged from doing sport because it’s considered slutty and they’re not allowed to wear comfortable clothes.

France is accurate, Italy should be dark green like France, and both Germany and the UK should be at least light orange, if not dark.
