A female teen shooter at a high school… in Canada, that’s a first. 🙁

Sad to see that happened in Canada. Best wishes for victims’ families, friends and others who care and have personal connection with the victims.
There are rumors about the shooter’s identity, but I would rather wait for official confirmation. Some people already become targets on social media.

This is our worst school event in nearly 40 years, for perspective. 14 women were killed at a Quebec Polytechnic in 1989. This stuff doesn’t happen here, nearly ever.

No details is a good thing. One of the problems in the US is that the names and details get put in the paper. Leads to a rise in popularity. Sometimes, the shootings are for fame and notoriety.

Message from our Prime Minister:
“I join Canadians in grieving with those whose lives have been changed irreversibly today, and in gratitude for the courage and selflessness of the first responders who risked their lives to protect their fellow citizens.”
“Our ability to come together in crisis is the best of our country – our empathy, our unity, and our compassion for each other.”
-Mark Carney.

This shooting hurts so much as a Canadian, and as a parent. I have nothing but my sincere condolences for the families and the community. Its such a small school, I can’t imagine how hard this is for everyone affected.

Absolutely awful, awful news. My sincere condolences to family and friends who lost loved ones. 💔

Wow this hasn’t happened in almost 40 years. Scary and tragic. Also a female shooter is not something you hear about often.

This is my hometown. 🙁 I live in the UK and have been so stressed, not knowing anything more until later today. It’s such a huge tragedy in such a small town; it’s going to leave permanent scars on the town.

Wow, that is a very small school. You hear “small, tight-knit community” a lot but that is a really small community.
