Multiple reliable footballing media sources are currently reporting that Bayer Leverkusen have secured the services of Serbian youth international Aleksa Damjanovic. The 17-year-old striker has, according to said sources, scheduled for a Thursday medical at his future Bundesliga club. Leverkusen and Red Star Belgrade have agreed to terms on a transfer in the €8m range including bonuses.
Fabrizio Romano and others report that Damjanovic’s Serbian outfit will receive a €5m base transfer fee. The additional €3m in bonuses will over the dispensed over the course of Damjanovic’s three-year Bundesliga contract. For every season that the teenager makes 25 competitive appearances, €1m will be due to Red Star. The Serbian champions have also secured a re-sale clause.
The youngster – who only just turned 17 this past December – has twice won the Serbian youth league title with the Red Star U17s. Last season, the budding forward scored an incredible 49 goals in 47 competitive appearances for his squad. He’s made 13 Serbian top flight appearances for Red Star and current loan club Grafičar Belgrade.
