Four ministries added, Ramadani: Kosovo does not have the luxury of a luxury government

Yesterday, the Parliament was constituted and the new government led by Albin Kurti was formed.
Unlike last time, the ‘Kurti 3’ government added four more ministries from the previous 16, bringing the total number to 20.
The Ministry of Labor, Family and Values of the Liberation War and the Ministry of Public Administration and Digitalization have been added. The Ministry of Sports and Youth has also been separated from the Ministry of Culture, while the Ministry of Infrastructure and the Ministry of Trade and Transport have also been separated.
Regarding this issue, Burim Ramadani, an expert on political developments in the country, spoke to “Gazeta Blic”.
Ramadani said that the increase in the Government is a heavy budgetary burden for Kosovo.
He said that ‘Kosovo does not have the luxury of a luxury government’ and the opposite should not happen.
“A heavy budgetary burden for Kosovo is the growth of the Government. More Ministers, deputy ministers, advisors, assistants, drivers, lunches and dinners, salaries and other expenses. Kosovo does not have the luxury of a luxurious Government. The opposite should happen. A smaller and better conceived government that is more functional,” declared Ramadani.
“It seems more like a bunch of Ministries that will take several months just to clarify their mandate and competencies. The citizens of Kosovo have constantly been against government luxury, and have even expressed this continuously through various forms,” said Ramadani.
