Dixon: Court should be careful with evidence Serbia gave them

Kadri Veseli’s lawyer, Rodney Dixon, said that the Special Court should be wary of the evidence provided by Serbia.
In addition, he said that the authorities’ support for this court should be taken into account, reports “Oath for Justice”.
“The Serbian authorities and their support for this court must also be taken into account, particularly when it comes to forensic purposes for assessing the evidence they have provided to the court,” Dixon said.
Attorney Dixon said it is not intellectually honest to argue that you can ignore Serbian policies.
“As I have emphasized before, it is not intellectually fair to argue that you can ignore Serbian policies and Serbian dominance, while assessing whether the KLA had essentially the same policies and at the same time saying that it went in a different direction,” he said.
The lawyer added that Serbia carried out apartheid in Kosovo in a similar way to South Africa. However, the difference, according to Dixon, is that Serbia tried to prosecute those who had suffered under their system, while in South Africa, the perpetrators had admitted guilt.
Prior to this, Dixon said that the Kosovo Specialist Chambers (KSCC) in The Hague are important for Kosovo in terms of the rule of law.
“The importance of the Kosovo Court of Cassation is absolutely crucial for the rule of law and for future reconciliation, even for a country in the world that is not in the spotlight of the world or that does not attract major attention in the headlines or mainstream news, it is still important to consider the entire country’s support for this court,” he said.
