Mathnasium Romania, part of the largest international network of centers dedicated exclusively to mathematics, announces the start of its national expansion, following the successful validation of its educational model through a pilot center opened last year in the Aviației neighborhood of Bucharest. Earlier this month, the company inaugurated a new Mathnasium center in the capital, in Militari, and is preparing to sign its first franchise agreements outside Bucharest.

In the medium term, Mathnasium Romania aims to develop a network of 25 centers nationwide, in the country’s main cities.

“With a record number of students enrolled in just six months, the pilot center opened last year has had a remarkable start internationally, confirming that there is demand for a different approach to math tutoring in Romania. This month, we inaugurated a new center in the capital, located in the Militari neighborhood, and we are already in advanced discussions with current partners from another educational business to open Mathnasium centers in major cities across the country. The next one will be the first outside the capital, and is scheduled to open in Cluj-Napoca,” says Dana Bănică, Managing Director of Mathnasium Romania, known for her contribution to the development of innovative education in Romania.

In 2018, the entrepreneur introduced the international Logiscool network (now with over 50 centers) to Romania, an educational business focused on developing children’s logical thinking and digital skills.

How much does a Mathnasium franchise cost and what does the partnership model entail?

The Mathnasium franchise is designed as a scalable educational business model, aimed at entrepreneurs interested in a project with long-term impact and relevance.
The initial investment for opening a Mathnasium center in Romania is between EUR 80,000 and EUR 120,000, which includes the franchise fee, center design and branding, educational equipment and materials, initial training, and operating costs for the first few months until the break-even point is reached.

The operating model is based on recurring monthly subscriptions, and the estimated return on investment period is approximately 18–24 months, depending on the city and the size of the center.

The franchise involves operating a physical educational center, complying with Mathnasium international standards, and implementing the method adapted to the national curriculum. Partners benefit from comprehensive training, ongoing support, international know-how, and access to dedicated educational platforms.

Benefits of the Mathnasium method for children and parents

The Mathnasium method begins with a detailed initial assessment that identifies exactly what concepts the student has mastered and where there are gaps. Based on this, each child receives an individual learning plan and goes through the concepts at a personalized pace, with 1-on-1 attention, without groups, so that the mathematical foundation is laid correctly and can support further learning.

Progress is constantly monitored and communicated to parents, with clear goals and measurable results. Over time, children strengthen their foundation in mathematics, develop logical and critical thinking, and increase their self-confidence, while parents gain transparency and a long-term educational partner.

The activity follows the national curriculum, so that what children learn and consolidate at Mathnasium is directly reflected in their progress at school. In addition, math tutoring sessions in English will soon be available for students in international schools.

Mathnasium is the largest international network of centers dedicated exclusively to mathematics, with over 1,200 centers globally, present in markets in North America, Europe, and Asia. The Mathnasium method is based on initial assessment and individualized learning plans, applied consistently in all centers through uniform teaching and progress monitoring standards. By focusing on understanding rather than memorization, Mathnasium supports measurable results, increased student confidence, and continuity in learning through recurring programs and clear objectives.
