LAS VEGAS (KSNV) — Construction on a state-of-the-art sports facility in Henderson reached a key milestone.
The city announced that crews topped off the steel frame for the West Henderson Fieldhouse, which remains on track to open later this year.
Built in partnership with KemperSports, the 160,000-square-foot facility will feature basketball courts that can be converted for volleyball or pickleball; hybrid turf fields for indoor soccer and football; and family entertainment that could include bowling, miniature golf or laser tag.
There will also be rooms for community events, such as birthday parties.
Henderson residents will be eligible for 20% discounts on all event programming and activities, according to the city.
Ground broke on the West Henderson Fieldhouse in May last year at the corner of St. Rose and Maryland parkways.
The total project is expected to cost $70 million. KemperSports is contributing $10 million, while the remaining one-time costs will be funded through the Public Infrastructure Bond Sale, West Henderson Development Fund and City Municipal Facilities Fund.
