Ahmeti: In Kosovo, during 2025, around 24 billion euros circulated, around 4 billion just the consumer basket

The EURO n’T7 show featured exclusive data prepared by the Data4X company for the needs of the show, for the main economic sectors in the country.
Based on this data, which was generated from ATK data, it appears that companies, the government, and citizens during 2025 have circulated around 24 billion euros.
Shpend Ahmeti from the company Data4X, who prepared this data, says that the largest increase has occurred from 2019 onwards, where in that year the turnover was once around 10 billion euros.
“When we see these figures, it also shows the paradox that Kosovo has, imports have increased, turnover has increased, the population has decreased, but it is an observation or perception of how we can manage. The big question is where all this money is coming from to cover all the expenses. If we look at last year, the salaries that were paid in the country reached the value of 3.5 billion euros, 1.5 billion euros in remittances and about 2 billion euros in the value of individual loans, this also includes loans and overdrafts that citizens have received”, said Ahmeti.
On the other hand, other data shows that as a people we also spend a lot on consumption, meaning that we spend billions of euros on food and beverages alone within a year.
“Based on the data we have generated, it turns out that within a year Kosovars spend around 3.9 billion euros just on the consumer basket, the purchases we make at the market. When calculating the income, the question arises where all this money is going and this is the economic paradox that needs to be studied and researched further,” Ahmeti added.
