In Belgrade, Sait Saitov (18) was arrested, suspected of running over a woman with a car in North Macedonia, who died from her injuries, and then fleeing the country, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of North Macedonia announced today.

As stated, the competent services in Serbia informed the MUP of North Macedonia yesterday that a person from the warrant, Sait Saitov from Skopje, was arrested in Belgrade.

-He is wanted on an Interpol warrant on suspicion of having committed serious crimes against the safety of people and property in traffic and failure to provide assistance to a person injured in a traffic accident, for a criminal-legal event that occurred in Skopje on January 9, 2026 – stated the police of the neighboring country.

Saitov was, as they added, ordered into extradition detention and a procedure between the ministries of justice of the two countries follows for his extradition to North Macedonia and bringing him to justice and appropriate sanctioning.

Otherwise, as local media wrote, the suspect killed Ljuba J. (79) with a car in the Skopje village of Kapištec, and then, instead of providing her with assistance, fled the scene of the accident, and then the country, with the help of his father and relatives.

On his profiles on social networks after the accident, shocking videos could be seen showing Saitov going wild in a “Volkswagen” brand car.

Otherwise, posts that were until recently on his Instagram profile revealed that he was operating cars back in 2020, when he was only 13 years old.
