BAKU, Azerbaijan, February 15. On February 14,
Foreign Minister of the Republic of Azerbaijan Jeyhun Bayramov met
with Foreign Minister of the Federal Republic of Germany Johann
David Wadephul on the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference,
Trend reports,
citing the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry.

The current state and prospects for the development of bilateral
relations between Azerbaijan and Germany, as well as regional
security issues, were discussed during the meeting.

The importance of continuing high-level political dialogue was
emphasized, and it was noted that mutual visits and meetings within
international forums have made a significant contribution to
deepening cooperation.

The importance of expanding cooperation in the economic, trade,
energy, agricultural, transport and logistics, as well as cultural
and humanitarian spheres was emphasized.

The contribution of strategic projects in the field of energy
and transport, implemented at the initiative and with the
participation of Azerbaijan, to ensuring energy security in Europe
and the sustainable development of the region was noted. Prospects
for cooperation in the field of renewable energy and joint projects
on the “green transition”, as well as efforts in the wider region,
including Central Asia, were discussed.

Touching upon the importance of joint activities within
international organizations, satisfaction was expressed with the
continuation of cooperation and support based on respect for each
other’s legitimate interests and mutual trust in multilateral
platforms.

The other side was informed about the current situation in the
region in the post-conflict period, the process of normalizing
relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan, as well as the steps
taken by Azerbaijan to ensure de facto peace and initial
cooperation in the region after the historic Washington Summit.

An exchange of views on other bilateral and regional issues of
mutual interest took place during the meeting.
