In Poland, a 23-year-old Ukrainian citizen was detained for extremely fast driving at about 200 km/h on a section of the S12/S17 highway between Lublin and Warsaw. She explained that she was rushing to a beauty salon for a manicure.

The incident occurred this week: police spotted a Mercedes that significantly exceeded the permitted speed and overtook other vehicles. The devices recorded almost 200 km/h, while on that stretch the speed limit is 120 km/h.

When the law enforcement officers stopped the vehicle, the driver was a 23-year-old Ukrainian citizen living in Warsaw. She explained that she was in a hurry because she had an appointment at a beauty salon where she planned to get a manicure.

For such a gross speeding violation, the police issued the maximum penalty provided for such offense – 2,500 zlotys (approximately 30,264 hryvnias). She also received 15 demerit points.

If the woman commits the same offense again within two years, she faces a fine twice as large – 5,000 zlotys.
