The Spring Festival is the most important traditional holiday of the Chinese nation – as stated by Zhang Wenchuan, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People’s Republic of China to the Republic of Belarus, at the Chinese New Year 2026 festive symphony concert organised by the Huaqiao Association of Chinese Compatriots in the Republic of Belarus with the support of the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Belarus and held at the Belarusian State Academic Theatre on February 15th
Zhang Wenchuan noted that the Spring Festival was inscribed on UNESCO’s Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity in December 2024, thus becoming a common holiday of humanity around the world.
“The Huaqiao Association of Chinese Compatriots in the Republic of Belarus has already successfully held the Chinese New Year symphony concert twice, using music to create bridges of mutual understanding and promote spiritual rapprochement between the peoples of China and Belarus. The beauty of symphonic music is that the various instrumental parts are both independent and harmonious.”
The diplomat stressed that China and Belarus, despite their differences in cultural origin and social structure, are developing bilateral relations based on mutual respect and are becoming an example of a new type of international organisations based on the principle of reaching agreement in the presence of disagreements.
“A great symphony requires outstanding conductors. It is under the strategic leadership of the two heads of state that the political mutual trust between China and Belarus is continuously strengthening. Mutually beneficial co-operation in various fields is developing in all directions. Our countries, adhering to mutual trust and mutual understanding, are together performing the symphony of the joint building of a community with a shared future for mankind. In the symphony of our Chinese-Belarusian friendship, every representative of the two countries present in this hall is a performer who contributes to the creation of a score of friendship between our generations,” Zhang Wenchuan stated.
