      Pretty cool analysis! I’d love to see it for even more podcasts but probably takes quite a few tokens. Did you do a test with a larger model for a few podcasts to verify accuracy of results?

      Not surprised to see the smartless guys near the top. Bateman and Arnett can’t stfu.

      I honestly think it might be a better podcast with just Sean as the host.

      Neil DeGrasse Tyson is the absolute worst at this. He cant let any of his guests finish a single thought.

      Interesting idea. Unfortunately, I’m not familiar with the US podcast scene, but could someone categorize the podcasts for me?

      Are they all of a similar format and comparable, or do they pursue different approaches, such as journalistic work, which  often has to interrupte the guest, versus providing a platform?  Or Inviting experts and respected individuals vs. controversial personnel?

      Allowing people to talk and finish their sentences/thoughts is sign of a good communication. It usually means that listening is occurring on a consistent level. It’s the only way. Podcasts with interruptive hosts just tells me that they didn’t care what the other person had to say to begin with. Just my two cents.

      Okay who unironically listens to or watches the Paul brothers? Do they really have that much of a loyal fan base?

      Ok but we love Guy Raz in our house when he’s on Wow in the world. I had to Google him a bit more as I didn’t realize he was actually is on many more things.

      Before he went coo coo for cocoa puffs around 2019, Rogan became popular because he was actually pretty good at having long form conversations and letting his guests speak. Its too bad he lost his mind. I used to enjoy his podcast in the 2016ish era when it was at its peak.

      I’ve yelled in the car countless times at Conan to just STFU and let the guest tell the story. I wanted Greg Daniels to tell their story. I wanted Jodie Foster to tell how she met Conan.

      I know it doesn’t count as a podcast hose, but I’d love to see the numbers for Howard Stern. I don’t think that guy’s ever once in the history of his show ever let a guest finish a sentence.

      Maybe if Rogan interrupted more often we’d still live in a democracy.

      Maybe not directly part of the data, but listened to Radiolab the other day, and their editing is insufferable. Tiny little word-bites from the guest/expert just used as punctuation in the hosts general narrative. Sounds deranged.

      While Joe Rogan is a moron, i actually enjoyed his podcasts when he brought interesting guests who talk about science, ecology and niche issues. He does somehow bring out the best in them

      Rogan doesn’t know enough about anything to interrupt his guests when they’re blatantly lying to him and his audience. Actual journalists like Terry Gross tend to pre-vet their guests and structurally reduce the need to interrupt them.

      Personally, I don’t think I mind interruptions I want hosts to keep people on track and ask probing questions. I don’t want to hear one sided conversations

      Include Marc maron. I like the guy but I felt like half his interviews were him trying to fit in his SNL angst to the guest’s life story, etc.

      The tracks, because, like many people, I listen to Conan O’Brien needs a Friend so I can laugh at what Conan says.

      I like the not about Drink Champs and it being a free for all. I didn’t know what that podcast was. I think it would also be interesting to break this down into podcast genre. I haven’t listened to Smartless, but I assume it’s one of those podcasts in which it’s mainly meant to be a comedy podcast where the main draw is listening to the host

      Hands down Fresh Air is one of the best interview shows on NPR and Apple Podcasts. If you haven’t tried it give it a listen. She has amazing ppl that come on that spans and covers topics across so many genres.

      Joe Rogan allowing guests to go without interruption was originally what got me into him. Listening to Maynard speak for 2 hours with hardly any interruption was my ticket in. Listening to Alex Jones go off during Covid with hardly any interruption was what made me punch my ticket off.

      It’s not surprising that Joe Rogan doesn’t interrupt, 90% of the time he has no idea what they’re saying, and he brought them on to just let them preach whatever they wanted. It’s literally his brand.
