Macedonia and Slovakia open new avenues of economic cooperation

The governments of North Macedonia and Slovakia stand strongly behind the cooperation of companies, are exploring opportunities for intensifying trade partnerships and exchanging experiences and expertise, and today, within the framework of the Business Forum in Skopje, they also signed a Memorandum of Understanding.
As stated at the Forum, there is great potential that needs to be exploited, while energy, ICT, the automotive industry, healthcare and tourism are just some of the sectors where cooperation can be intensified.
“We already have a certain trade exchange in the automotive industry and some chemical products, but we think that there is new potential in energy, ICT and the automotive industry. We also want to see what the export capacities are on both sides, because we are not only focused on attracting investments, but also on increasing export potential, especially in industries with high added value, such as Macedonian wine, which we strongly promote,” declared the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade, Timco Mucunski, before the start of the Forum.
He informed that the state has been working for a long period to reach an agreement for a delegation from Slovakia to come to our country, together with representatives from the business community, who will have the opportunity to establish direct contact with North Macedonian companies and chambers of commerce.
According to the Minister of Finance of the Slovak Republic, Ladislav Kamenicki, entrepreneurs are the driving force of economic growth, carriers of innovation and bridges between countries, people with vision, courage and a desire for cooperation and achieving results.
As Kamenicki noted, today’s Forum is a platform where ideas, experiences and innovations meet.
