The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania has recognized February 17th as Kosovo Independence Day.

This was announced by the Kosovo embassy in the US, which thanked Governor Josh Shapiro for this decision.

“The Commonwealth is made up of rich, vibrant, and diverse communities that offer its citizens a wealth of knowledge and culture about the world in which they live. Our strength comes not from uniformity, but from diversity, and we are proud to celebrate the cultural diversity of our Commonwealth. The Albanian-American community is an integral part of Pennsylvania, and their contributions to the economic, cultural, and social fabric of our Commonwealth are irreplaceable. As we celebrate Kosovo’s independence, Albanian-Americans in Pennsylvania should feel a deep sense of pride and accomplishment. I am confident that they will continue to be essential to the success and well-being of our Commonwealth for many generations to come,” the governor’s decision states.

In addition to Pennsylvania, several other American states have recently taken this step. /Express/
