We can only imagine the frustration and fear the owners felt walking into shattered glass and costly damage, costly damage to an industry known to have slim margins. Where *** Saturday night can make or break you. It began around 4 a.m. Friday at Bacon and Butter. Sadly, *** business that has already faced multiple crimes over the past decade. The owner of Sak City Brew watched it unfold on the security cameras and says it appeared to be *** calculated group. Glass doors were smashed, equipment damaged, and in the end, very little money was taken compared to the destruction left behind. Milano’s Pizza, Happy Takeout, tasty dumpling, Oscar’s Berry Mexican Food, and Pangea Beer Cafe experienced similar break-ins minimal cash stolen but expensive repairs and *** lasting sense of violation. These restaurants need our support right now. They pay rent, salaries, and taxes. They support families. They create gathering spaces that bring culture, character, and community to our neighborhoods. When we say shop local, this is what we mean show up, support them. As the daughter of *** small restaurant owner, I can assure you their entire family will never forget the incredible community that showed up for them when they needed it most.
