MILAN — Jack Hughes scored in overtime to lift the United States men’s hockey team to a 2-1 overtime win over Canada in the Milan-Cortina Olympic Games on Sunday.
The win came 46 years to the day the U.S. “Miracle on Ice” team defeated the Soviet Union en route to winning Olympic gold. It is the first Olympic gold medal for the U.S. men’s hockey team since 1980.
This is a developing story. The Times will have more soon on the United States’ win.
