North Korean leader Kim Jong Un appears to have cemented his control over the Workers’ Party of Korea (WPK) at the third Party Congress of his rule, installing allies in key positions to ensure his dictates face little resistance in the years ahead.
The highest party body of the Politburo Presidium was filled with close affiliates of the leader. This removes potential obstacles to his economic and political policies that caused notable issues following the previous Party Congress in 2021.
